Introducing Lenacapavir PrEP to Communities Across Zambia

Our TALC team joined
the UTH-HAP team on the ground in ten districts — Solwezi, Kitwe, Nakonde, Chingola, Kapiri Mposhi, Lusaka, Chilanga, Mazabuka, Livingstone and Chipata — to kick off field onboarding for the SCALE-IT Zambia project.
The visits involved introducing the project to district health offices and facility staff, identifying community hotspots for service delivery, and recruiting community-based volunteers (CBVs) who will help bring long-acting injectable PrEP directly to the people who need it most.
Community Champions were engaged across all ten districts, including Mentor Mothers, peer navigators, adolescent representatives, and key population volunteers.
The communities were welcoming. They told us directly: reduced clinic visits and injectable options are exactly what people need. We listened — and we're building around that. 👂
